The term lampworking refers to use of a torch to form glass shapes. This introductory class teaches students how to make decorative glass beads that can be incorporated into jewelry or other art objects.
Class Content   Tools of the trade
Working safely with a torch and hot glass
Use of a Hot Head torch and MAPP gas
Making basic beads
Pulling stringer (fine threads of glass)
Techniques for decorating beads
Annealing
Prerequisites   None
Class Size   2 - 4 students
Class Sessions   Two 3-hour sessions

Tools and Materials   GlassWear, etc. provides materials and use of all tools needed for this class.
Class Fee   $150 per student payable before or at the first class session.
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a space.

Scheduling conflict or short on time? Our Glass Beadmaking Basics class is a condensed version of this course for $75. You'll learn to make beads in one 3-hour session but won't be taught as many decorative techniques or have as much practice time as you'd get in the full class.
