This introductory class teaches students how to assemble a stained glass panel using the copper foil method developed by Tiffany. Copper foil is the method of choice for making suncatchers, stationary panels that do not need to be weathertight, and 3D stained glass objects.

Tools and Materials  

GlassWear, etc. provides the chemicals (flux and patina) required by the copper foil technique and use of grinders and soldering irons during class sessions.

Students must provide their own glass cutting and foiling tools as well as the glass, foil, and solder required to complete their projects. During the first class, students either draw their own panel pattern or select a stock pattern from one of the many books owned by GlassWear, etc.

A list of required tools and alternative suppliers is mailed to students two weeks before the first class session.

Class Fee   $100 per student payable before or at the first class session.
A $30 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a space.
